Jake Goss is one of the UK’s leading jazz alto saxophonists, known for his raw and compelling straight-ahead improvisational style. His new quintet performs captivating, contemporary original compositions and arrangements of jazz standards, showcasing the world-class musicianship of Barnaby Dickinson (trombone), Rob Barron (piano), Calum Gourlay (bass) and Chris Draper (drums).

Jake grew up in Washington DC where he studied saxophone and piano from a young age and went on to perform in award-winning jazz ensembles, as well as the Maryland All-State Big Band and legendary Brooks Tegler Big Band. He returned to the UK to study at the Royal Academy of Music and has since had the opportunity to perform with internationally acclaimed jazz musicians, such as Stan Tracey, Don Weller, Soweto Kinch, Neo Joshua (Nao) and Bill Laurance, as well as pop musicians including Dawn Robinson (En Vogue), Cece Peniston and Nathan Watts (Stevie Wonder). The album "Looking Up" by Jake Goss’s Banyan (Amazon/iTunes/Spotify) features ECM recording artist and Mercury prize nominee Kit Downes (piano), along with the highly esteemed James Maddren (drums) and Sam Lasserson (bass).
